Trees have been slow to drop their leaves this year due to the dry summer and unseasonably warm start to the fall season. To accommodate Mother Nature, the Village extended the yard waste pickup with Republic Service until December 15th.
Residents are asked to place collected leaves curbside in biodegradable paper bags or yard waste only cans on your regular collection up to December 15, 2021. This extension is for Republic Services yard waste only, the Village branch pickup program has been completed for this year.
Residents are reminded not to place leaves in plastic bags. Raking leaves, grass clippings or other debris into the street is prohibited by Village ordinances. This practice may result in hazardous conditions for motorists and may clog inlets, preventing the flow of storm water into the Village's storm sewer system.
